Taft

His nurturing spirit and unwavering support served as a guiding light for his children, instilling in them the values of integrity, kindness, and perseverance.

It is with deep respect and loving remembrance that we announce the passing of Ignacio T Ortiz Sr. who departed this life on July 17, 2026, in his hometown of Taft, Texas. Born on December 19, 1962, also in Taft, Ignacio spent his lifetime deeply rooted in the community that shaped him, surrounded by family, friends, and neighbors who held him in high regard.

Ignacio was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Teresita Ortiz, whose steadfast partnership was a source of strength and comfort throughout their years together. As a father, Ignacio was immensely proud of his children: Petra Lee, Ignacio T Ortiz Jr., Chasity Marie Ortiz, and Desiree Nycole Ortiz. His nurturing spirit and unwavering support served as a guiding light for his children, instilling in them the values of integrity, kindness, and perseverance.

The son of the late Enrique R. Ortiz and Maria De Jesus Ortiz, Ignacio honored his parents’ legacy through his own life. He carried forward the traditions and lessons passed down to him, ensuring that family remained at the heart of everything he did.

Throughout his time in Taft, Ignacio created a meaningful life marked by dedication to those he loved and the place he called home. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will endure—cherished by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing his generous spirit and gentle character.

Ignacio’s journey on this earth may have come to an end, but the love, wisdom, and warmth he shared with those around him remain. As we remember Ignacio Ortiz, we give thanks for his life and the indelible mark he has left on the hearts of so many.

He is survived by his wife, Teresita Ortiz; his daughters, Petra Lee, Chasity Marie Ortiz, and Desiree Nycole Ortiz; and his son, Ignacio T Ortiz Jr. His grandchildren were special to him, six granddaughters and three grand sons, and one great granddaughter. Ignacio is preceded in death by his father, Enrique R. Ortiz, and his mother, Maria De Jesus Ortiz.
