Joe Black, born on July 26, 1945 in Pawhauska, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on September 15, 2026 at the age of 81. He spent his final days surrounded by love and care leaving this world gently while in hospice care after suffering a stroke.

Joe was the cherished son of the late Earl and Winifred Black. He was a devoted brother to his

Surviving siblings Sharon Kay Austin of Corpus Christi, Texas and Rex Black of The Woodlands,

Texas. The love and memories he shared with them will be treasured forever.

Joe joined the military in 1969 and retired after 20 years. Joe was a true patriot, dedicating a significant part of his life to serving his country with honor. His military career was marked by his steadfast dedication in both the Navy and the Coast Guard where he traveled to various locations around the globe, contributing to the safety and security of his nation. His sense of duty and commitment to service was an inspiration to all who knew him.

Beyond his service, Joe had a passion for collecting firearms. He was an avid gun collector,

Frequenting local gun shows where he not only expanded his impressive collection but also

formed deep and lasting friendships. His presence at these gatherings will be sorely missed by

the community of friends who shared his enthusiasm and who were touched by his kindness

and camaraderie.

Joe is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carol, who passed away on October 6, 2025. The

love they shared was profound and enduring, a testament to their commitment and

companionship throughout their years together.

In accordance with Joe's wishes, a private family service will be held to honor his life and

legacy. Though the ceremony will be intimate, the impact of Joe's life resonates widely in the

hearts of those who knew him.
