Joyce Jean Fjeldahl

Joyce (Mills) Fjeldahl, 81 , passed away peacefully surrounded by love. Joyce was born in Lebanon, Oregon, to the late Dale and Nellie Mills. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Joyce was a social person who truly enjoyed being around people—well, "good people," as she would say. She had a special gift for remembering people by name, no matter how brief their meeting may have been. She took an interest in others and enjoyed getting to know the people she encountered throughout her life. Joyce loved the water. The beach, the bay, and especially what she affectionately called "the duck pond" brought her happiness. Some Of her favorite moments were spent simply being outside, enjoying the water and the company of people she loved.

Her faith was an important part of her life. Joyce loved Jesus and her church family at Calvary Coastlands Church, where  she found friendship, fellowship and a sense of belonging.

A special thank you goes out to Joyce's dear friends , Ernestine and Bill, who faithfully picked her up each week for church and lunch. Their kindness, respect and friendship meant so much to Joyce. She loved them dearly.

Joyce also held a special place  in her heart for her caregivers, Patty and Jade. They brought their care straight to her heart, and Joyce loved them and treasured their visits to "the duck pond."

A heartfelt thank you goes to Janie, her Hospice nurse, who cared for Joyce  with compassion, kindness and dignity during her final days. Her presence and care meant so much to Joyce  and her family.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Shawn Crespo (Leo Cubas) and her son, Kevin Peroni, grandson Christopher Hottell ( Nicole)and their children, Justin and Juliet and her granddaughter, Briana Hottell and son Major. She also leaves behind extended family and friends  who loved her deeply.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Nellie Mills, and her brothers, Donald Mills and Glen Mills.

Joyce will be remembered  for her love of people, her ability to make others feel seen and remembered, her love of eater and most of all her love for Jesus. She leaves behind memories of a woman who found joy in simple things-a familiar face, a church service, a lunch with friends, and a visit to the duck pond.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
