Leo Omar Rios, a kind-hearted and dedicated individual, was born on April 19, 1959, in McAllen, Texas. He passed away on July 10, 2025, in Corpus Christi, Texas, at the age of 66.
Leo was known for his warm spirit and willingness to lend a helping hand to those in need. He took great pride in his work as a handyman, participating actively in assisting his neighbors with various odd jobs, always ready to offer his skills and support. His generosity extended beyond his work; he had a genuine love for people, and his nurturing nature endeared him to all who crossed his path.
A proud member of the United States Coast Guard, Leo served his country with honor and commitment. His service was a testament to his character and dedication to the values he held dear.
In addition to his selfless contributions to his community, Leo had a passion for music that resonated throughout his life. He was a very skilled drummer who won several state awards in high school. He took pleasure in listening to a variety of genres, often finding solace and joy in the melodies that accompanied him.
Leo is reunited with his father, Leocadio Rios. He is survived by his mother, Marie J. Marshall. He is also survived by his brothers, Michael Rios and Dominic Rios, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family who will remember him with affection and gratitude.
The memory of Leo Omar Rios will continue to inspire those who knew him. His legacy of kindness, service, and love for music will be cherished forever.
The family will be inurning Leo's remains at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
