Nellie Lowe

Nellie was born in Penang, Malaysia. She excelled in school and earned a scholarship to study nursing at the Royal Victoria Hospital School of Nursing in Barrie, Ontario. Nellie settled in Barrie, where she married Dale Pratt, and they had two daughters. Later, she married James Lowe, and together they shared many decades of love.

Her nursing career spanned five decades. She was known for befriending the friendless and for her generous spirit. She loved baking for friends, spending time in her garden, caring for her many dogs, and taking her famously long walks around Corpus Christi Bay.

Nellie passed away peacefully at her home on July 11, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
