Corpus Christi

Samantha “Sam” Delgado-Gotcher, passed away with her loved ones by her side on May 30th, 2026, at the age of 56 in Corpus Christi, TX. She was born to Mary E. Alanis and Isaias Delgado, Jr. on November 1st, 1969. She would say it was the best year to be born! Sam grew up in Corpus Christi, TX where she met the love of her life William D. Gotcher and then raised her children in Orange Grove, TX. Sam was truly dedicated to caring for others, she worked in Home Health Care for over 15 years. She was never afraid of the many challenges she faced throughout her life.

Sam lived her life with faith, courage, humor, song and spirit. She was full of strong opinions, flexible boundaries, and had an impressive capacity for both love and poor decision making. Sam was loved deeply by her family and friends whom she cherished every moment with. She was never boring, never took the easy way out, and had fun doing it. Her sense of humor and laughter will not be easily forgotten. If she was not talking away, she was singing along to the radio and always controlled the aux cable in the car!

Sam cherished being a wife, mother, and grandmother and was hopeful for more time, but succumbed to complications of liver disease. She is preceded in death by her father Isaias Delgado, Jr., husband William D. Gotcher, and her best friend Greta Moya who were more like sisters than friends. As well as her dogs Gus and Prince who are waiting with wagging tails and love. She is survived by her mother Mary E. Alanis, brother Isaias Delgado III, sister Dorothy Cummings (Sean), her daughters Lavada Michele Gotcher (Jason), Madison Paige Gotcher (Simone), her son Mitchell Dylan Gotcher (Danielle), and her granddaughter Janelle Gotcher.

Proverbs 31:31: “Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gates.”
