Steve Ray DuVall, 70, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on July 25, 2026.
Born on October 3, 1955, in Cleveland, Ohio, Steve lived a life marked by both resilience and complexity. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lorraine DuVall, and his sister, Sharon Keese. He is survived by his father, Ray Duvall; his daughter, Jennifer DuVall Shapiro, and grandson, Zachary Shapiro; his son, Michael DuVall; his sisters, Deb (Jim Velchoff) and Annette DuVall (Jim Holiday); and nieces and nephews. Throughout his working life, Steve was known as a hard worker who rarely shied away from physical labor. Over the years, he worked in home improvement retail, started his own contracting business, installed retail merchandising displays for major retailers, and spent several years providing care and support to individuals with significant disabilities. Although his career took many different paths, he approached his work with determination and a willingness to keep moving forward .Steve was known for his quick wit, sarcasm, and dry sense of humor. However, beneath that exterior was a deeply sentimental side that few witnessed. He also found peace on the water, where fishing offered quiet moments of reflection and contentment. Like many people, Steve’s life was marked by both hardship and humanity. He will be remembered for his humor, work ethic, and love of fishing.
Private services will be held by the family.
