Willie Nick Kucera

Willie Nick Kucera Jr, 79, of Corpus Christi, TX, passed away on June, 16, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 26, 1946 in Corpus Christi, TX, he was the child of William and Ruby Kucera. After graduating from Gregory Portland High School and Texas A&l Kingsville, Willie went on to teach at Weimar and Gregory Portland High Schools before building a career as the owner of Kucera Landscaping in Rockport, TX. In 1982, he married the love of his life, Lisa (Shinn) Kucera, and together they shared 44 wonderful years. Outside of work, Willie had a deep passion for his family, Czech heritage, and baseball. His pride for being a G-P High School graduate was unmatched as he was instrumental in arranging the school reunions for several years. He will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, generous spirit, and adoration for his grandchildren. Willie made friends everywhere he went and didn't know many strangers. Willie is survived by his spouse, Lisa Kucera; children William Kucera and his spouse, Hillary, and their children, Dean and Amelia; and Michael Kucera. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ruby (Mikeska) Kucera; siblings Albin Kucera and Andrew Kucera; and his son, Toby Kucera. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the First United Methodist Church of Portland TX 'Building Campaign' in Willie's memory
